Orchestra Letter
A school letter can be given in orchestra if the criteria
below is met. Students should see Mr. Topolovec for forms to complete
if they are interested in getting an orchestra letter.
Total needed: 500 pts.
I.
Performances
25 pts. for each community service performance
10 pts. for each sectional or special rehearsal
10 pts. for each non-school concert attended
25 pts. for each non-school concert performed

Participation

pts. for each hour of individual practice or lesson at school

50 pts. per semester for membership in outside groups (MYSO)
75 pts. per semester per instrument studied privately
75 pts. for attendance at summer music camps
100 pts. for participation in State Honors Orchestra
IV.
Contribution to the West Orchestra Program
20
pts. for assistance around the music area. i.e., filing, fixing, cleaning,
organization. Points may also be awarded at the discretion of the director
for any
activity not covered above that benefits the orchestra program.
Points must be earned throughout the calendar year starting about May
10. Points may not be transferred to another person, and they may not
be carried from year to year.
